The Selection


 Explore the kingdom of glittering gowns and exquisite jewels....In the country of Illea which regulates under the monarchy, the society is divided into eight castes, with one being the highest (Royal family) to eight being the underprivileged people. Our heroine, America Singer is a 17-year-old attractive lady from the caste of five (musicians and artists) who lives with her parents along with her younger sister - May and a brother Gerad. 

 The Selection is a televised marriage competition among 35 women who are chosen for Illean princess to marry the gorgeous Prince Maxon. America's mother is ecstatic about this opportunity so that they could eradicate there rough times being as a five but America has no curiosity in entering the competition because of her childhood secret boyfriend - Aspen, a six working vigorously to support his mother for feeding the mouths of his younger brother and sisters. America and Aspen steal time occasionally during late nights to meet at the backyard treehouse conversing with one another. Aspen convinces America for filling up the form of Selection saying that he could not stay feeling guilty for robbing her privilege of a better life.

 Surprisingly, America gets into the Selection carving her nightmare turn to reality. Aspen and America will have some bitter times before entering the Selection. America feels overwhelmed in the palace and depicts an impolite behavior towards Prince Maxon on their very first meeting. Eventually, they both agree upon being friends with each other and later on, she confides to him about her ever-evolving relationship with Aspen. However, America gradually falls for Maxon exhibiting their adorable romance. Weeks later America encounters Aspen in the palace as a new member of the guard intertwining all her emotions and sensitivities with a complication.

 The tense relationship of a love triangle with compassionate romance is an undeniable threat to the readers. Kiera Cass excels with a phenomenal sense of apparels and luxurious composition of the themes in the storyline.
